Box chose SDL as its preferred partner for its expansion into international markets. Based in the UK, Box provides secure content sharing space as well as storage collaboration software for its users. It has the backing of various venture capital firms like Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Emergence Capital Partners, General Atlantic, Meritech Capital Partners, NEA, Scale Venture Partners and U.S. Venture Partners. Strategic investors salesforce.com and SAP also invested in Box. More than 150,000 businesses have benefited from Box's services. The company estimates that around 97% of Fortune 500 companies use their platform for content sharing and management on any device anywhere.

SDL helps companies engage with their customers through technology and its related services. The recent deal will put their expertise to use as Box expands globally. SDL will localize content and include marketing and other materials to help Box target audiences in various channels. Tatiana Harrison, SDL Global Solutions US VP Sales & Operations, said the partnership is a natural fit. "We use Box ourselves to access, manage and share marketing and sales documents with customers using mobile devices," she explained.
