Invincea announced the appointment of Dr. Sameer Bhalotra to its board of advisors. Invincea develops secure virtual containers for the detection of malware and related services. The Fairfax, VA-based company is backed by venture capitalists and offers solutions to protect enterprises from attacks targeted to its end-users.
Dr. Bhalotra had extensive experience in the public service sector before his appointment at Invincea. His most recent stint was as President Obama's Senior Director for Cybersecurity. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Impermium, another cybersecurity firm backed by venture capital. His expertise in the field is expected to help Invincea as the company seeks to meet increasing demand.
Bhalotra lauded Invincea's technology. "Traditional computer defense technology is insufficient to stop today's insidious cyber threats, which pose a major risk to the government, critical infrastructure, and our economy. Invincea has developed a revolutionary technology to detect and contain cyber threats, and has proven this technology against zero-day threats in the wild. I look forward to advising the company to better protect computer networks and users worldwide," he said.
