A Disneyland employee has died due to a head injury sustained from an unfortunate incident involving a moving golf cart at the resort.

Disneyland Employee Dies Following Tragic Incident

According to the report, the Orange County Coroner Division has identified the deceased employee as Bonnye Mavis Lear.

The individual, 60, worked at the Disneyland Resort for a span of 24 years, specifically in a role that involved assisting with membership services at Club 33, a private dining club within Disneyland, Deadline reported.

As per Sgt. Jonathan McClintock, a spokesperson, Lear was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and unfortunately passed away due to her injuries.

Shortly after, Lear was pronounced brain dead and died on June 7, according to Sgt. Frank Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Orange County Coroner.

Disney Cast Members Urged to Remain Silent About the Tragedy

Rae Delgado, a Disney cast member, shared on Facebook that Lear had experienced a fractured skull and brain swelling as a result of the incident.

Delgado stated that Lear was riding on the back of the golf cart with three other passengers when they encountered a bump in the road.

According to reports, Lear quickly responded by reaching out for a handrail, but unfortunately, it gave way, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle.

According to Daily Mail, Delgado mentioned that doctors had to perform surgery on her to prevent any additional damage, but unfortunately, the situation was beyond their control.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed deep sadness over the passing of Bonnye and extended heartfelt condolences to all those who knew and cared for her.

According to Delgado, she and her fellow cast members were instructed to remain silent about the incident, a directive she strongly opposes.
