Ukrainian President Zelenskyy passionately appealed for increased air defense assistance against Russian attacks during a reconstruction conference in Berlin, as reported by Channel News Asia.

Although there have been "possible" diplomatic discussions between the two countries, Zelenskyy still emphasized the urgency of addressing Russia's aerial superiority, stressing the critical role of air defense in preventing Russian advancements on Ukrainian soil.

Zelenskyy's call for support was echoed by German Chancellor Scholz, who urged allies to boost Ukraine's air defense capabilities. Scholz cited that prevention is the most effective form of reconstruction.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Diplomatic Efforts

Amid escalating tensions and ongoing conflict, Zelenskyy's diplomatic efforts include engagements with G7 leaders in Italy and peace talks in Switzerland; according to VCPost, Ukraine's call for international solidarity will unlikely include China after PM Xi Jin Ping snubbed Zelenskyy at an event in Davos earlier this year.

For now, funding for increased air defense assistance against Russian attacks will likely involve diplomatic discussions, with support from allies like Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States.
