Apple becomes the first brand to surpass $1 trillion in brand value, marking a 15% increase from last year, according to Kantar's BrandZ global ranking reported by Reuters.
In 2024, Apple retained its position as the world's most valuable brand for the third consecutive year, followed by Alphabet's Google, which was valued at $753 billion, and Microsoft, which was valued at $713 billion.
Earlier this week, Apple introduced new AI features that are expected to boost iPhone demand and counteract declining sales due to fluctuating consumer spending and increased competition from tech rivals.
Analysts comment that it's due to Apple's consistency with its products and services, which aligns with its overall brand messaging. Thanks to product developments and upgrades, Apple's market capitalization now stands at $3.18 trillion, surpassing AI chip leader Nvidia, which is now valued at $2.97 trillion, which has nearly tripled as well.
While market cap provides a snapshot of a company's financial size and investor sentiment, brand value assesses the intangible assets and brand equity contributing to a company's overall reputation and market influence.
New Global Brand Ranking
Riding the wave of AI and chip demand, Nvidia has also entered Kantar's list of the top 10 most valuable brands for the first time. According to VCPost, Nvidia's brand value surged to over $200 billion from a year earlier, placing it sixth on the list, with Apple on top for the third consecutive year.
Oracle, known for its AI-powered cloud services, also debuted in Kantar's top 10, landing in ninth place with a brand value increase of 58% to $145 billion.
Following Apple's new AI platform, investors are looking forward to seeing which of Nvidia and Apple will top the global brand ranking next year.
