Tyrese Haspil, 25, confessed to killing and dismembering his boss, Fahim Saleh, the CEO of Gokada, a ride-hailing and delivery service, to cover up a $400,000 embezzlement. Saleh's dismembered body was discovered in his Manhattan condo in July 2020.
The jury on Monday found Haspil guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree grand larceny, tampering with evidence, and concealing a human corpse, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Prosecutors said Tyrese Haspil meticulously plotted the crime to hide his embezzlement, and he conducted the fraudulent scheme to buy lavish gifts for his girlfriend.
Alvin Bragg described the victim as a man from a close-knit immigrant family who worked hard to become a successful businessman. Evidence presented included security footage showing Haspil using a Taser on Saleh in the condo elevator.
The jury also heard the 911 call from Saleh's cousin, who discovered his beheaded body. The sentencing of Haspil is scheduled for September.
