The "One Less Car" program of Uber will select up to 175 car owners in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Miami, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Eligible participants will receive $500 in Uber app credits, a $200 voucher for car rental or carshare services, and $300 for alternative modes of transport like public transit. The program will start on July 22.

The initiative aims to save money and emissions, especially with around 233 million private vehicles on the road across the US. Uber hopes that this program can encourage people to switch to a car-light lifestyle.
Uber will choose trial participants at its discretion based on a review of survey responses. Completing the survey does not guarantee selection for the trial. The company said it retains the right to cancel, modify, or change the trial at any time.
