Minivan Crashes Into Long Island Nail Salon

According to the witness, the four individuals were inside the salon at the time of the crash. The driver of the minivan, who was partially conscious when first responders arrived on the scene, was transported to a hospital, according to a statement.

The presence of any other individuals in the minivan at the time of the crash remains uncertain, according to the statement.

This nail salon is part of a small shopping area in Deer Park, Long Island, along with four other stores. Several parking spots are located in front of the storefronts, just beyond the sidewalk.

According to Albanese, around 150 firefighters and EMS officials were present at the scene to manage the incident.

Albanese informed the reporters that the situation is proving to be challenging for the firefighters and EMS personnel present at the scene. He mentioned that a meeting with the crisis team is scheduled for the evening to provide support for anyone from the various departments involved who may require it, CNN reported.

Officials stated that it was not immediately apparent whether the crash was accidental or intentional. The Suffolk County Police Department major case unit detectives were conducting an investigation, according to a police spokesperson.

According to Eric Perez, he was in the process of loading groceries into his car near the accident scene when he suddenly heard the sound of a speeding car followed by a loud noise resembling shattering.

"It was a sound that I had never heard before," he told Newsday.

While departing the parking lot, he witnessed emergency crews extracting victims from the scene, as he recounted.

According to an eyewitness, an individual was being retrieved by emergency personnel from the scene. Two women, who appeared to be employees, were seen being carried out on stretchers.
