A millionaire banker who had been wanted for assaulting a lady during a Pride and anti-Israel rally in June turned himself into the police on Monday, July 1.

The man in question is Jonathan Kaye, who worked as a managing director for the Manhattan investment firm Moelis & Co until he resigned after the scandal.

Altercation Caught in Video

The 52-year-old banker allegedly hit a lady, sending her tumbling onto the sidewalk, before walking away from the scene during the June 8 Brooklyn Pride celebration, as seen in the video that has gone viral online.

He was taken into custody and faces charges of third-degree assault, third-degree menacing, and second-degree harassment, according to the Brooklyn district attorney's office. The district attorney's office confirmed to Fox News that Kaye surrendered to authorities.

A woman claiming to be Micah P. told NBC New York that at the time of the incident, her group saw Kaye looking drunk and disturbed. "He seemed very angry when he walked by," she added.

Kaye allegedly referred to them as "useful idiots" before continuing down the street, then she attempted to ask what he said.

His attention shifted to the victim, who claimed she had sprayed Kaye with water, so he approached her. Onlookers gasped in horror as they saw the punch. Micah P. said the impact fractured her nasal bones in four places.

Before the Assault

A source informed Fox News that a group of protesters started the violent confrontation when Kaye, who is Jewish, said that they were "on the wrong side" of an anti-Israel demonstration. Following his statement, four individuals from the group "Queers for Palestine" reportedly encircled Kaye.

He tried to flee, but they began throwing a "red liquid" at him, the person said. As per the report, Kaye ended up on the ground with blood streaming from his leg. Pictures of his clothing reveal the stains and a cut on his leg.

Lawyer Danya Perry said in a statement that Kaye has no history of violence or aggression but was harassed and assaulted by a group of unruly antisemitic protesters, so he resorted to self-defense.

The agitators allegedly formed a ring around him, sprayed him with unknown substances, pushed him to the ground, and screamed antisemitic obscenities, as is shown in another video and other evidence that they have provided with the District Attorney. All these, according to Perry, are now shown in the viral video.
