Final Fantasy creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has reunited with Square Enix after more than two decades apart, Bloomberg reported. Known for his visionary RPG designs, Sakaguchi's Final Fantasy series has sold over 185 million copies globally across numerous acclaimed titles.

Following years of distant relations, the two will reunite again to publish a revamped edition of Sakaguchi's latest creation, Fantasian

Initially, the developer kept their distance out of respect for Square Enix's business decisions. Over time, they reconnected through events and social engagements, such as participating in Final Fantasy XIV events and sharing dinners with Square Enix executives.

These interactions led to discussions about expanding Fantasian to more gaming platforms. As a result, Square Enix will now publish an enhanced version of the game, called Fantasian Neo Dimension, for PC and consoles.

Hironobu Sakaguchi's Final Fantasy

Sakaguchi's legacy dates back to Square's early days in 1983 when he conceived the groundbreaking Final Fantasy series inspired by popular RPGs of the era.

Despite initial setbacks, his innovative approach led Final Fantasy to become a worldwide sensation, celebrated for its expansive worlds and unique storylines. Departing after the challenging reception of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and personal ambitions for creative freedom, Sakaguchi remained committed to Lost Odyssey and The Last Story.

Looking ahead, Sakaguchi remains focused on new creative ventures with Mistwalker, hinting at a potential sequel to Fantasian. Despite his upcoming collaboration with Square Enix, he maintains a consumer's perspective on gaming and intends to avoid revisiting past franchises like Final Fantasy
