'Tinder Scam': Indian Man Faces Shockingly Expensive Bill at Restaurant After Online Date Gone Wrong

An unexpected Tinder date turned into a costly affair for an Indian man, who faced a staggering restaurant bill of Rs 44,000.

Tinder Scam Leaves Indian Man With an Extravagant Bill

According to Republic World, his friend shared the incident on Reddit and warned the public about the potential risks of this "Tinder scam." 

The Reddit post included a photograph of the bill detailing an extravagant order placed by the Indian man's date at a restaurant in Thane. The order included 18 Jagerbombs, two Red Bulls, four chocolate truffle cakes, and several other snacks, totaling Rs 44,829.

The Reddit user hoped the post would serve as a cautionary tale for others using dating apps.

Indian Man Reports the Incident to Local Authorities

Following the incident, the Indian man reported the matter to local authorities, seeking assistance. Despite the police's efforts to negotiate, the bill was only reduced by Rs 4,000, leaving the man with a significant payment of Rs 40,000. 

This incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media about the risks associated with online dating, urging users to exercise caution and be vigilant.
