7-Eleven is celebrating its 97th birthday by giving out free Slurpee drinks in order to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Customers may get a small 7-Eleven's iconic frozen drink Slurpee with no purchase required for free. As per a press release shared with Fox Business, certain 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes outlets participate in the annual "Slurpee Day" happening every July 11 (7/11).
7-Eleven and Its Commitment to Pediatric Patients
In the days leading up to Slurpee Day, 7-Eleven released a limited-edition cup created by Nolan, a child cancer survivor and national advocate for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
According to the convenience store chain, the commemorative cup will serve as an inspiration to everyone during Slurpee season and a source of hope for other pediatric cancer patients.
There are 170 pediatric institutions that make up Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, as stated on its webpage. Each year, 12 million children in the United States and Canada get treatment from these medical facilities, which results in 38 million patient visits.
Without indicating the exact years, the business said in its press release that it has a longtime history of partnership with the charity.
Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven's vice president and chief marketing officer, said in the statement: "We are thrilled to share the nostalgia and create new memories with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and our customers who cherish this tradition so dearly."
