Dozens of employees at TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, have been hospitalized following a major food poisoning incident at their Singapore office.
According to BBC, health officials are investigating the outbreak that affected around 60 people, with 57 of them requiring hospital treatment for severe stomach issues on Tuesday, July 30.
The incident occurred at ByteDance's office in Singapore's business district, where 17 ambulances were dispatched to handle the emergency. The company has stated that it does not prepare or cook food on-site but relies on third-party caterers.

ByteDance's Response to Food Poisoning
A ByteDance spokesperson assured that the company is deeply focused on employee health and safety and stated that they are actively collaborating with emergency services and health authorities to resolve the situation and ensure that all affected employees receive the necessary care and support.
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and the Ministry of Health have also launched their own investigation into the incident. They have stressed the importance of food operators adhering to strict safety practices and have warned that enforcement actions will be taken against any non-compliant operators.
ByteDance, which achieved global success with its short video app TikTok, continues to deal with the fallout from this incident. As the investigation progresses, the focus remains on figuring the cause of the food poisoning and preventing future occurrences.
