Jimmy Donaldson, known for his YouTube screen name "MrBeast," admitted to the "inappropriate language" he uttered in his early career, but stayed silent regarding the allegations regarding fraudulent corporate practices and questionable work ethics surrounding him and his team.
A representative for Donaldson told the Associated Press that the YouTuber "acted like many kids" when he started the MrBeast channel on YouTube, including the use of "inappropriate language" for comedic purposes, which he has "repeatedly apologized" in more recent years.
One of the highlights of Donaldson's alleged use of inappropriate language was when he became a guest for a podcast in 2017, where he allegedly suggested he would have sexual intercourse with the rapper Danielle "Bhad Babie" Bregoli, who was aged 14 at the time.
It has since been removed for allegedly violating YouTube's community guidelines.
One of the podcast's hosts, Leon Lush, defended Donaldson on X, formerly Twitter, saying that Donaldson later clarified on that podcast episode that he "wouldn't do that" because Bregoli was "way too young."
Allegations vs. Donaldson, Ava Kris Tyson
VCPost previously reported that the MrBeast team came under fire after Donaldson's best friend and long-time MrBeast collaborator Ava Kris Tyson was revealed to be allegedly messaging minors in the mid-2010s, prior to transitioning from man to woman.
Tyson reportedly had a wife, who he divorced prior to transitioning, as well as a young son together.
A certain former MrBeast Discord server admin named Nathan Weyman posted on X that "LavaGS," an underage teenage fan he worked alongside with as Discord server admins for the group, was allegedly messaged by Tyson regarding nude images and anime pornography, which Lava acknowledged but fell short of claiming himself as a victim.
Weyman added that he and Lava were tasked to run Tyson's streams without pay and the aforementioned Discord server, which had around 10 people, most of them minors aged around 14 years old.
It is understood that Tyson allegedly shared pornographic images on a regular basis.
Since the allegations sprung up, Weyman launched a website compiling indecent messages allegedly made by Tyson addressed to minors.
Meanwhile, a YouTube video from a certain channel named "DogPack404" revealed that he was a former MrBeast employee, and that the company was allegedly faking its videos, conducting illegal lottery through giveaway livestreams, and rigging results in some of its game show-format content.
The claims were challenged by ViewStats co-founder Chucky Appleby, who also worked for Donaldson, saying that the former employee was allegedly fired within a month after displaying "erratic behavior."
As of writing, both DogPack and Weyman have since been given a cease and desist order from MrBeast. Weyman's website was also taken down as a result.
Creators, Influencers Speak Up vs. MrBeast
Aside from internal accusations, MrBeast was also facing external criticism from the online community, especially from fellow YouTubers.
It is understood that the philanthropy sector and the YouTube commentary community are both divided over Donaldson's content, with supporters commending him for his practice of direct generosity and critics calling it exploitative "inspiration porn" or "poverty porn."
YouTube influencer and former MrBeast participant Rosanna Pansino has been calling Donaldson out since she participated in a certain game show on Donaldson's channel. She told the AP that she has collaborated with Donaldson on potential business ventures for the past few years, but none of it materialized.
Pansino said that she allegedly received death threats from MrBeast fans after she exposed Donaldson for ripping her off in the game competition she participated in.
British leftist YouTuber "The Kavernacle" also claimed in a recent video that his assessment of Donaldson was right after criticizing him since his first video regarding MrBeast in July 2020.
The creator has since made a playlist of his videos on the matter.
