After introducing the budget-friendly $5 meal on June 2024, customers will still be able to buy the "steal" deal this December.
However, Reuters reported that it will only be available in select US locations.
Following a decline in revenue, the $5 meal attracted more budget-conscious purchasers, that other competitors began launching their own versions, like Burger King-owned restaurants. At the time, consumer price index and inflation rate are it its high, pushing Americans to find more ways to save on food. Unfortunately for McDonald's, it means cutting down on fast food purchases.
McDonald's $5 Meal Deal Extended
Now, this is not the first time McDonald's extended the deal.
A month after implementation, VCPost reported that the fast food chain made the $5 meal gimmick available for one more month, which coincided with their disappointing annual sales report in 3 years.
Currently operating over 13,500 branches in the US, the extension for Americans is a must to regain their revenues. To do this stronger, according to evidence that foot traffic has become stronger following the new budget-friendly meal, Reuters mentioned that analysts recommend other marketing promotions.
Like usual, CNN reported that the meal will still include the original menu; a choice of 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, McChicken sandwich, McDouble cheeseburger, small fries, and a regular drink.
This week, however, new deals are coming to greet customers. Every Friday, any purchase worth minimum of $1 will have a free medium fries. Then, between November 4 and December, the same worth will give customers 10 pcs chicken McNuggets.
Seeing that the year is still not done and more holidays are yet to be celebrated, it is expected that McDonald's still have a few promos up their sleeve.
