Huawei's new trifold phone is receiving attention in Beijing, the same day Apple released the iPhone 16 in the country.
In a report by CNBC, it was found that 8 out of 10 Apple loyalists are just as interested in buying Huawei's trifold phone, which should not be a surprise to the country's market. In China, Huawei is the 4th most bought devices in the second quarter and Apple is not even in top 5.
Interestingly, Huawei Mate XT is more expensive with a price of more than $2,800 than iPhone 16's $799 and Pro Max's $1,199. Even in second hand shops, Apple lags behind with $2,300 (16,300 yuan), compared to Huawei's $8,520 (60,000 yuan).

Huawei vs Apple Sales
Unfortunately, not everyone in Beijing is happy with Huawei's supplies.
BusinessWorld Online shared that not a lot of Mate XT were made that most just decided to ditch the line and get the iPhone 16. As a result, no lines were visible in Huawei stores while Apple's already had a long line before they opened.
Previous CNBC report showed that there were a dozen people who reserved the trifold phone, though most were possibly looking to resale them due to lack of supply.
Unlike iPhone 16, most Beiing's Apple loyalists are still planning to test the trifold phone for a few days before deciding whether to keep it, or sell it at a higher price. They are curious about the new features of the trifold phone and thinks Apple is not offering anything new, except the artificial intelligence features that they were looking forward to since earlier this year.
