We recently attended a Phoenix Capital Group webinar after being served their ads (quite often!) on publications like NewsMax and podcasts like Sean Hannity. The company is in the oil and gas industry and promotes corporate bonds that can generate between 9–13% annual yield. Here's my honest breakdown of the pros and cons of attending this webinar so you can decide if it's worth your time.
What I Liked: Pros of the Phoenix Capital Group Webinar
1. High-Quality Presentation
The webinar was professionally executed from start to finish. SMS reminders with the link, informative emails before the event, high-quality audio and visuals—everything was top-notch. The slides were clear, well-designed, and packed with useful information without being overwhelming, but I did find some of the details hard to see on my mobile device.
2. Expert Host
I saw Devin Graves, the Senior VP of Capital Markets at Phoenix Capital Group, present. His extensive background in capital markets was evident, and he presented the information confidently and clearly. Upon looking him up, I saw that he has experience in radio too, which explained the voice!
3. Comprehensive Industry Insight
The webinar provided an easy-to-follow introduction to how the oil and gas industry works. Devin explained the various ways Phoenix Capital Group operates within that industry and then showed extensive examples of real projects, production numbers, and financials. I left with a good understanding of everything from how they acquire oil-producing properties to how they generate cash flow for investors.
4. Clear Explanation of Investment Opportunities
The section on how investors can participate was particularly well done. Phoenix Capital Group's bond offerings were explained in detail, with clear information on the different term lengths and expected yields. The transparency about the risks involved was much appreciated, and I think Devin did a good job of explaining how the company works to protect its investors and long-term growth.
What Could Be Better: Cons of the Phoenix Capital Group Webinar
1. Could Have Been Consolidated
While the Q&A session at the end was helpful, the webinar stretched to 1 hour and 5 minutes. Maybe it's me being distracted, but I had a hard time staying alert after 45 minutes. I would recommend that the company do a shorter version to accommodate busy schedules, but to their credit, I was sent a replay of the webinar the same day that could be watched at 1.5x speed.
2. Potential Bias Toward Positive Outcomes
The webinar is informative, but at the end of the day, it is still understandably a sales pitch. It would have been helpful, or humanizing, to see a few failures in their portfolio. I imagine that 100% of their acquisitions don't produce cash flow, but the errors were not covered in the presentation.
3. Lacking Visuals of Their Field Operations
Ten minutes of the presentation is spent discussing the success of their operating division, which drills for oil in North Dakota. There were some static images, but as someone unfamiliar with oil and gas, it would have been cool to see a fly-through or some aerial footage of the team at work.
Is It Worth Attending?
Overall, I would recommend attending the Phoenix Capital Group webinar if you're considering an investment in the oil and gas sector or if you're simply looking to understand high-yield opportunities available in the market better. The presentation was professional, combined with detailed insights into their business model and investment offerings, making it a valuable use of time. I have definitely seen worse investment webinars! Just be sure to approach it with an understanding of the risks involved and a critical eye, as with any investment opportunity.
