Last year's October saw Taylor Swift on the billionaire list for the first time, due to her behemoth Eras tour. This year, she added hundreds of millions more to her net worth.
Over the past few years, and earlier this month, Rihanna has held the fort of being the wealthiest female musician in the world at #2,335. Today, Swift is taking the number 1 spot.
Billboard shared that Taylor Swift has an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, surpassing Rihanna at 34. This is only a year after Forbes updated her net worth to $1.2 billion, most of which came from the highest-grossing tour of all time, the Eras Tour.
However, a considerable part of Swift's billion-dollar status is due to her highly-expensive music catalog. Billboard also noted that she was the first musician to build a billion-dollar empire based solely on her songs, live performances, studio albums, and everything related to her music career. To specify, Swift is taking home $600 million from music royalties and touring, $600 million from her entire catalog, and $125 million in her several real estate investments.
Taylor Swift's Billionaire Rank
Forbes now ranks Taylor Swift at #2,117, surpassing her current peers, Barbra Streisand ($460 million), Beyoncé ($760 million), Celine Dion ($550 million), and Rihanna ($1.4 billion), who made her fortune off her successful Fenty Beauty line.
In the musician net worth ranking, Swift is no. 2 on the list, just behind Jay-Z, who has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion.
Now, it's worth noting that Swift has yet to report the total earnings of the Eras Tour officially, but it could surpass current estimations by Forbes. At the same time, her highly-anticipated re-recorded album, reputation, and debut album, are yet to be released. Sales from these releases will boost her net worth even more in the coming years.
