Meta employees allege that the company terminated their employment on unreasonable grounds.
Reportedly, the Mark Zuckerberg-led firm had let go of employees who misused their meal vouchers, which are specifically for food purchases.
According to BBC, Meta employees used the voucher for toothpaste and washing powder, which the company asserted was a policy violation. Other misuse cases were when employees shared their vouchers and exceeded the allowed budget. Meta allegedly gave no warnings before laying them off.

Meta's Meal Voucher for Employees
VICE learned that Meta staff receive meal vouchers every time they eat and when ordering food through Grubhub. There's an allotted $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch, and $25 for dinner.
Over 30 employees who "abused" these vouchers used it on non-food items that were not explicitly stated as a rule. An anonymous complainant argued that some were warned and immediately stopped their activities, but was still laid off three months later after complying.
Now, there are conflicting reports on whether everybody received warnings as other Meta's fired employees confirmed that nothing has been issued to them.
Besides these cases, Meta has also reportedly made layoffs across several divisions, such as Instagram, Reality Labs, and WhatsApp. The virtual reality unit, responsible for the Oculus VR, was no surprise after VCPost shared that it already lost $45 billion in just 4 years.
While Meta hasn't responded directly to earlier allegations of unreasonable layoffs, they explained that cutting jobs was part of their changes to align resources with its long-term goals and strategies. Not all employees turned out jobless as the company also relocated them into different roles.
Meta stated that they to find new opportunities for affected employees whose positions are eliminated.
