Navigating healthcare can feel disjointed, with patients often left juggling multiple providers and uncoordinated care. Many adults spend up to eight hours a day coordinating their own care, according to a recent poll conducted by the AAPA. Coherent Health, a platform designed to bridge this gap, offers a solution by creating a network where both licensed and non-licensed health practitioners can refer and collaborate. By bringing medical and wellness providers together—such as doctors, therapists, nutritionists, and holistic healers—Coherent Health is creating a cohesive model that benefits the professionals' practices and improves their client outcomes.
The B2B platform addresses the challenges of fragmented care, making it easier for all practitioners to refer patients across disciplines, track progress, and communicate treatment plans in a collaborative environment. For example, a primary care provider, yoga instructor, and health coach could collaborate with the same patient with lower back pain. It's a simple concept, yet Coherent Health is the first platform to address it.
Coherent Health was born out of the personal journey of its founder, Stephanie Marango, MD, whose experiences in both the tech world and her own health practice illuminated the gaps in today's healthcare system. Early in her career, Stephanie was involved in a six-car collision that resulted in memory loss and mobility challenges. This prompted her to explore various health modalities for her long-term recovery. At that time, she was immersed in the Silicon Valley startup scene, but the collision redirected her toward health and wellness as her fundamental focus.
She enrolled in medical school with an interest in integrating modalities systemically. Guided by her passion for integration, Stephanie set out to build a platform that could solve the issues she encountered in both her practice and her own recovery. These are issues that she knew other practitioners faced and that all patients could benefit from. Thus, Coherent Health was born.
Stephanie's vision was to create a seamless network for collaboration among health and wellness professionals from different modalities. The platform would allow practitioners to cross-refer patients, share client care with consent, track outcomes, and work together as a community. This would facilitate effective communication across various health modalities.
As a first step, Stephanie created a prototype for Coherent Health, gathering feedback from a small focus group of practitioners. The prototype proved successful, and when Stephanie decided to develop the platform further, one focus group member, Elena, was the natural choice to help it grow. Elena Litvack, LMT, is a seasoned health professional with a background in corporate wellness. As a licensed practitioner in the wellness industry, she can effectively communicate across different modalities and address the challenges they face. Stephanie and Elena had cross-referred clients for years before the focus group. Now, they collaborate to refine the platform's functionality, expand its reach, and adapt it to the needs of its practitioners.
"Elena understood what we were trying to do right from the start," Stephanie says. "She saw the same gaps in the system and brought a synergistic perspective on how we could make Coherent Health a truly collaborative ecosystem."
Since its early prototype days, Coherent Health has continued to evolve. In March 2023, the team launched the MVP (Minimum Viable Product), focusing on improving care coordination while expanding their network of health practitioners.
Through persistent beta testing and listening to user feedback, Stephanie and Elena continue to refine the platform. A key takeaway from the testing phase is that while most practitioners support collaboration, those who try the platform find tremendous value in its referral network. This has led to a shift in focus, with Coherent Health now emphasizing the importance of building strong referral networks for practitioners who want to grow their businesses and provide better care for their clients.
From the outset, Coherent Health's mission has been about long-term sustainability rather than rapid growth. The team remains committed to building a platform that stands the test of time, delivering real impact to a professional community with no current means of interconnectivity.
"The vision has always been to change how health happens," says Stephanie. "We are here to bring the proverbial health and wellness village together. To give the professionals the related skills and systems they need and, ultimately, the patients the care they deserve. Coherent Health is just the first step."
The road ahead promises exciting opportunities for expansion and further impact, but at its heart, Coherent Health remains grounded in the belief that responsible, collaborative care is the future of healthcare. To learn more, visit www.mycoherenthealth.com.
