India is not only the most hotly contested market for smartphones. According to analysts, the Indian social network market will become the largest in the world in two years. Because of this recent study, giant social networking giant Facebook sent engineers to zero in on the Indian social network market.
According to analysts, the market share of Facebook in India has stagnated in the past years. The privacy policies of the website created doubts on users in the country, resulting in a slight decline in registrations. Other observers believed that the introduction of overly complicated features such as the Facebook Graph confused many regular users.
Moreover, its most important market sector was untapped. The youth, according to analysts, are yet to register to the supposedly 'young and hip' social networking site.
The Indian emerging market is quite different from other counterparts. In the United States, the market prefers to use Facebook with smartphones which cost as much as US$600. In India, the market never clamored for the expensive gadgets.
Feature phones were more profitable in the country. On average, the market purchased phones only worth US$40 according to analysts.
