Airbnb Reveals It Will Introduce New Businesses It Plans to Launch and Scale Later This Year

Airbnb, Inc. has announced that it will unveil new businesses that it plans to launch and scale later in the year.

The company did not provide specifics regarding these businesses, it has been reported that they will focus on new products such as classes, tours, and workshops.

Airbnb is investing a significant amount of money into these businesses. Management has revealed that $200 million to $250 million will be invested this year.

It is believed that these plans signal the company's desire to go beyond short-term rentals, especially as it looks to begin a new chapter in 2025.

"In 2024, we successfully outpaced the travel industry's growth, and in 2025, we aim to build on this momentum," the company informed shareholders through a letter.

AI in Airbnb?

In addition to its plans to launch and scale new businesses, Airbnb has also revealed its plans regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within the company.

When asked about the company's approach to AI, CEO Brian Chesky said that Airbnb will be integrated AI to customer service by the summer.

Chesky likewise revealed that the company has a long-term plan of integrating AI as a travel and living concierge.
