
Leah Kyaio has long believed that respect is the foundation for a good work environment and a happy life. For thirty years, she has dedicated her life to creating tools, resources, and lessons emphasizing the importance of respect in communication, conflict resolution, and leadership in the workplace.
Now, as CEO of RespexTech, Kyaio aims to build a better world using RespexTech's innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.
A Personal Journey of Overcoming Systemic Barriers
Kyaio's career has been built around her Native American worldview and values and was inspired by her early struggles growing up as a white-presenting woman of color. She experienced firsthand the complexities of growing up in a world that restricted people of her ethnicity and culture from maneuvering easily through society—barriers she, as an observer, did not personally face.
Because of her appearance, her interaction with systematic prejudice was different from that of other Native Americans. She understood that because of her looks, she did not have to fear certain situations like others of her heritage. That privilege created its own form of hardship and struggles that informed the choices she would later make in building her career, teaching businesses how to nurture better business environments and create respectful communication.
Kyaio also dealt with the weight of ancestral and historical trauma as she worked diligently to "bootstrap" herself out of poverty. The ironic phrase, which means to lift yourself off the ground, which is an impossible task, was even crueler because she had to learn about money and how to deal within the confines of capitalism through hard life lessons as she created four successful businesses.
The difficulties Kyaio experienced finding her footing in a sometimes hostile business environment inspired her personal mission to make a better world through a foundation of respect and inclusion. She operates on the premise of "What I do to you, I do to me." Kyaio's ability to teach how to communicate meaningfully and build a culture of respect in any business has made her successful in her chosen career.
RespexTech Is Transforming Communication
Kyaio understands the importance of communication in the workplace and how it can positively transform the working environment. It also provides data on the user's communication to strengthen their skills through more precise writing.
