Mediabend Capital, the venture capital firm founded by entrepreneur Emanuele Della Valle, announces today the official launch of ElizabethStreet.com.
First launched as an app in October 2011, Elizabeth Street expanded earlier this year with the soft launch of the website as a platform and resource for chic moms around the world.
Now, in time to help celebrate Mother's Day, Elizabeth Street marks its official launch today with a feature on maternity expert, designer, and motherhood coach Rosie Pope. Pope, who is currently expecting her third child, opens up to Elizabeth Street about her pregnancy, what it's like raising her kids in New York, and the upcoming new season of her hit Bravo show Pregnant in Heels.
"The second season is a little wilder," Pope tells Elizabeth Street of the show. "We push the envelope in different ways with topics that are very popular right now and important to discuss. Whether it's placenta-eating or home births or breast milk banks, we cover absolutely everything and push it to the limit."
The feature will appear along with an exclusive Mother's Day Gift Guide curated by Pope and her "Mom Essentials", a round-up of all those must-haves that make a mother's life more organized, stylish and fun. On Friday, Elizabeth Street readers will also find an exclusive interview with designer, entrepreneur and new mom Ivanka Trump. In addition, Elizabeth Street will introduce a new section called Little Pink Book, a localized directory offering suggestions for moms across the world on the best places to eat, shop, and spend time with their kids. Little Pink Book offers recommendations and suggestions from moms like Pope, Trump, Rachel Zoe, Busy Philipps and Carolina Herrera de Baez in cities like New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Paris,Berlin, Hong Kong and Tokyo, with more to follow later this year.
As the ultimate online destination for stylish moms, Elizabeth Street covers fashion, travel, activities, culture, philanthropy, and lifestyle with a unique voice geared towards moms who want the best for themselves and their families. Notable mothers in the fashion and creative fields like designers Cynthia Rowley and Dee Ocleppo, fashion executive Amanda Brooks and ELLE magazine editor Anne Slowey are also featured in a playful mix of interviews, video segments, and street style shots that give readers an intimate look into their lives.
"I noticed my wife and her friends spending tons of time online trying to find the best for their families, from what to do with their children to the best places to visit," says Emanuele Della Valle. "With Elizabeth Street, I wanted to create a platform that inspires and speaks to them."
"Driven by the idea that a happy mom equals a happy child, we are launching the site with the belief that nurturing varied interests makes women great mothers," adds Ludovica Pellicioli, editor in chief of Elizabeth Street. "Moms are constantly looking for inspiration from other mothers and Elizabeth Street offers inside information, courtesy of enviably stylish moms from around the globe."
