Campbell Soup Co announced that it is already in the last stages of negotiations regarding the sales of some of its European businesses with CVC Capital Partners, a private equity company.
While the prices and terms of the deal are yet to be disclosed to the public, Reuters reported that under the terms of the deal, the company will sell off specific brands of its soups, sauces and meals.
Some of these brands are Liebig, Royco, Erasco, Bla Band, Royco and Devos Lemmens. These brands currently have markets across Europe and Germany. Included in the sale are the company's four plants located in these regions as well.
The brands linked to the sale are doing well individually. Their combined net sales generate USD530 million for Campbell Co.
Campbell anticipates that the sale will become effective in the first quarter ending in October.
The proposed sale does not cover Pepperidge Farm products in Europe or Campbell's products in the U.K., the Middle East or Africa. Kelsen Group will continue its operations in Denmark and is not included in the deal.
