Manuel B. Villar said his companies have lined up more commercial developments in the Philippines next year. Villar, who is the Founder and Chairman of both Vista Land & Lifescapes and Starmalls, revealed that his firms will be opening new malls and convenience stores. For 2014, Starmalls will open new malls in Davao, Cebu, Sta Rosa and Daang Hari.
The former senator told reporters, "Starmalls is constructing five new malls and these are in addition to our (current portfolio of) six... We will open the first one in the second quarter of 2014... We're lining up more malls in the next five years." He also said Vista Land would be building Vista malls in Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Malolos.
Villar also said that his group would be expanding to the convenience store market. The group's Finds convenience stores have combined with All-Day in Luzon to compete with such names as Mini-stop and 7-Eleven. "We combined Finds with All-Day... We have sixty now, but we will end the year with a hundred," Villar said.
