Reports have resounded Blackberry's confirmation in contemplating alternatives to boost the company position up, including a sale of the company In connection to this, Reuters divulged an overview of BlackBerry's resources in a report that may entice investors. The report highlighted the company's assets, include their services, patents, handsets and its QNX Software Systems. QNX was purchased by Blackberry in 2010 for USD200 million.
BlackBerry services currently has 72 million subscribers, with 20 million of that coming from enterprise and corporate users. Patents on synchronizing and securing methods for data may be attractive to Google, Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd., to name a few. Crucial information that could attract investor interest is that Blackberry's cash and investments amounting to USD3.1 billion, and that the company has nonexistent debt.
An added attraction for interested investors would be BlackBerry's own facilities, BlackBerry's compact workforce and its tempered number of third-party manufacturers for its phone production.
