The asset management division of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC GAM) appointed Mayur Nallamala as its Head of Asian Equities. He would also head a team of portfolio managers in his role as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Nallamala is based in Hong Kong where he would oversee the Asian equity assets valued at USD 1.5 billion of the Royal Bank of Canada Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) unit. The new appointee would also give valuable insight on the region's economies as well as the performance of Asian equities to support the management and investment strategies of RBC GAM.
Before his appointment to RBC GAM, Nallamala worked for the Hong Kong branch of JP Morgan Asset Management for eight years. He was responsible for managing USD 4 billion for Asia Pacific ex-Japan portfolios of the firm's various clients.
RBC GAM Chief Investment Officer Dan Chornous said, "As our new leader of Asian equities, Mayur brings a rigorous investment philosophy that is consistent with our own approach, a solid track record in the region, and a strong background in serving clients."
