Mobile photo application developer PicCollage scored USD 2.3 million in seed funding. Prominent investors like Floodgate Fund, Freestyle Capital and 500 Startups participated in the round. Sand Hill Angels, Quest Venture Partners, XG Ventures, Neil Young and Bob Stevenson also supported the San Franciso-based company.
The photo app was already downloaded more than 35 million times on iOS and Android. Young women from the US, UK and Japan are PicCollage's most enthusiastic users. The app allows users to make, combine and share visual content that they have created in new and exciting ways.
Recently, PicCollage also launched its branded content campaign in partnership with Interscope Records. PicCollage said the campaign allows users and fans of featured Interscope artists download the latter's customized sticker packs.
Floodgate Fund Co-Founding Partner Ann Miura-Ko said "PicCollage is establishing an engaged community within a huge demographic that is hungry to express themselves creatively. This is an exciting opportunity as brands are eager to connect with these mobile users."
