The MTV Video Music Awards saw the return to the limelight of one of its most influential artists. Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem, released an ad during the VMAs as to his new album 'MMLP2'. A sneak peek of the first single entitled 'Berzerk' was done during the awards show together with the commercial for Beats by Dre.
The album is in homage to the Eminem classic album released back in 2000 entitled 'Marshal Mathers LP'. MMLP2 is the latest album from the rapper after his Grammy award winning LP 'Recovery'. The new album would be available in stores on November 5.
Before the awards show, Eminem went online and tweeted, "Guess who's REALLY back? #VMAs."
One of the major investments that Marshall Mathers has established was Shady Records, an American record label. Established in 1999 after the monstrous success of Eminem's debut album, the label has been managing seven acts from the initial eleven the label had signed. Other business ventures of the label include the Shade 45 radio station through Sirius Satellite Radio.
