Today, ShopPad announced it had raised a total of USD500,000 in seed funding. ShopPad is an e-commerce platform that turns retailer websites into a tablet-optimized experience. The seed funding was for the company's software-as-a-service technology used by more than 10,000 sellers online.
Angel investors for the seed funding included Arik Keller, Peter Horan, Allen Morgan Walt Doyle and others. Rafer is the CEO and co-founder of MyBlogLog, Lumatic and Lookery. Keller is the Director of Product at PayPal while Horan is the president of Answers.com. Meanwhile, Morgan is a current board member at Fab.com while Doyle was the previous General Manager of PayPal Media.
ShopPad was established last year by Aaron Wadler. The latter was the founder and CEO of Viddyou which was purchased by Motionbox in 2009. According to Wadler, the potential of iPad's to change computing a couple of years ago got him excited as during that time, he became an online shopper.
