Jonathan Golub was named as the new Chief Market Strategist for the US by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Golub would be heading the investment banking unit of the Canadian bank. He replaced Myles Zyblock who left the post in April.
Golub joined RBC from his previous stint in UBS where he served as the Chief US Equity Strategist until his departure in June. He also worked at JPMorgan Asset Management Inc. Golub's experience in the industry spanned eighteen years. He would be based in New York and would directly report to RBC's Co-Head of Global Research, Marc Harris.
In an interview, Harris told Bloomberg that Golub's background in helping build up UBS made him "a perfect fit" for the post. "The clients absolutely loved him and thought of him as one of the best assets on the Street. On our platform, he's really going to be able to shine," he added.
