Universal Pictures released the new title of the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel. The new film "Jurassic World" would be in 3D and will have Colin Trevorrow as its director. Derek Connolly would be working on the screenplay while Steven Spielberg, who has also produced the three earlier Jurassic Park films, would be the new film's executive producer. According to Universal, the film would be released on June 12, 2015.
When asked about the latest film, Trevorrow let some fans in with a new dinosaur breed. "We have a new one that's pretty cool. I'm not going to tell you anything about it, but... it's pretty badass," he said.
The Jurassic film franchise earned a combined USD1.9 billion in ticket sales, with each film a box office success. The Jurassic film franchise is composed of "Jurassic Park" released in 1993, "The Lost World" in 1997, and "Jurassic Park 3" in 2001. The re-release of the original Jurassic Park film had brough in a reported USD114 million.
