Ooredoo, the Qatar based telecommunications company formerly known as Qtel, had announced it would be one of the major sponsors for the 2012/2013 French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The partnership was announced by Ooredoo Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Thani and Paris Saint-Germain Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The term of the sponsorship will run until 2018. There were no financial details provided in the announcement.
One of the major pillars of the agreement would be the development of community and youth support. This would be done through a community coaching programme that would be conducted across Ooredoo business areas in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North Africa.
The logo of the telecommunications firm would appear at the back of the uniforms of Paris Saint-Germain team apparel as well as on the sleeves of their training gear. The logo would also appear at the pitch side LED system of the team's home field Parc des Princes Stadium. The team's training complex would also be named the Ooredoo Training Center.
