Boxing pundits gave their predictions for the scheduled boxing match today between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Boxing website Bad Left Hook gathered the predictions of its staff about the match. Ryan Bivins predicted a win for Mayweather. He said, "Alvarez can't match Mayweather for precision, foot work, defense, speed, and most importantly consistency / endurance."
Meanwhile, Steve Janoski believed that Canelo would be a dangerous match for Mayweather. He said, "I consider this a pick'em, but at a heavier weight, against a far younger opponent, this might finally be the fight that Mayweather slows down in."
A lot of money is on the line for the Mayweather-Alvarez fight. Mayweather would stand to make USD 41.5 million for the fight, based on the contract he gave to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. This gives Mayweather the biggest purse in all of boxing history. Alvarez was slated to collect USD 5 million on fight night. Both boxers would still get shares from pay-per-view earnings.
