Celebrities pays tribute to Tupac Shakur’s death anniversary

Tupac Shakur's death was remembered today through a tribute from many celebrities. It had been already 17 years since the music industry lost one of the greatest rappers of all time, said a Hollywood Life report. Many celebrities posted on Twitter to commemorate his death anniversary.

According to the Hollywood Life, the rapper's life was cut short while he was at the peak of his career. In 1996, Tupac was shot in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incident ended the rapper's life who co-starred with Janet Jackson in the movie Poetic Justice in 1993. Tupac was only 25 years old at the time of his death.

Tupac signed a contract with Death Row Records in 1995. The late rapper sold more than 75 million records worldwide and more albums were sold after his death. Last year, Tupac's estate was sold USD3.5 million.

Death Row Records was established by Dr. Dre and Marion "Suge" Knight in 1991. In 2006, the record label filed for bankruptcy and was successfully auctioned to WIDEawake Entertainment Group Inc. for USD100 million.
