Private equity firm Brynwood Partners announced that was able to close its seventh fund with USD 400 million in capital commitments. Brynwood Partners VII reached its hard capital target with just one close. Brynwood Partners focuses its investments in lower middle companies operating in the consumer industry. The company said it would be actively looking for new investment opportunities for its seventh fund. It would also strive to get maximum returns from its other investments in previous funds.
Brynwood Partners Senior Managing Partner Hendrik J. Hartong III said the funds gathered for Fund VII made it the largest in the 29-year history of the firm. "The high level of interest in our Fund from the investment community validates our belief that returns in the lower middle market are primarily driven by operational improvements at the portfolio company level," he added.
Brynwood did not give details on the investors of Fund VII. However, Managing Partner Ian B. MacTaggart said they were able to get the support of their existing investors.
