Venture capital firm Redpoint announced last Tuesday that it had appointed Ryan Sarver to be a partner in the company. Saver was the previous head of platform in the social media network Twitter Inc.
Sarver would focus on seeking investments in platforms and social applications. The former Twitter executive would also seek investments for the company's software known as "software as a service". This was according to a press release by Redpoint Ventures. Sarver left the social media platform giant earlier this year.
On a separate announcement, Redpoint Ventures said it had promoted Tomasz Tunguz from his former principal post to partner. The venture capital firm has also hired Jamie Davidson, who was the former product vice president of Hotel Tonight, as a senior associate in the company.
Earlier this year, Redpoint Ventures announced it had closed an early stage fund valued USD400 million. The venture capital company had been known for early stage technology investments including vacation-rental company HomeAway and digital videorecording company TiVo.
