Andy Halford would be leaving his post as the Chief Financial Officer of Vodafone next year. The British telecommunications firm said Halford would leave after the completion of the Verizon deal. Vodafone is still in talks with Verizon Communications for the sale of its US wireless business for USD 130 billion.
Halford has worked as Vodafone's CFO for nearly nine years. Vodafone said he would be leaving at the end of March next year. Vodafone's current Chief Executive of its Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific operations Nick Read would take his place. Read would be appointed as the CFO of the Vodafone Group on January 1, 2014. He would start serving the Vodafone board on April. Meanwhile, Serpil Timuray would take Read's place on January 1.
Halford joined Vodafone in 1999. In 2002, he was appointed as the CFO of Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless is the US joint venture between Vodafone and Verizon Communications. He was appointed as group CFO in 2005.
