German carmaker Porsche released teaser photos of its 2014 Macan for its fans. The new model was slated to be unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show next month. The photos on the company's microsite showed that the Macan was a compact crossover with a design aesthetic similar to the Porsche's Cayenne model.
Based on the pictures, the Macan looked more sporty-looking than the Cayenne. However, Porsche had added a unique feature: the car would have a quad-LED headlight system. No other technical details had been released about the Macan so far.
According to car review and news site Evo, Porsche sales for May were biased towards the firms' SUVs. Of the 15,020 worldwide sales posted for that month, 62% were from saloons or SUVs. From January to May, Porsche posted sales of 67, 261 cars in the European, American and Asia/African/Middle East markets. Evo reported that the trend away from Porsche's sports cars would set to continue with the release of the Macan.
