Obama urges Congress to move on after settled debt issue

By

US President Barack Obama had urged the Congress to move forward with its agenda. The new agenda would include a new immigration law, a farm bill and a budget bill which he referred to as "sensible". This was after the US partial deadlock over budget issues and increasing debt borrowing authority had been ended for now.

Obama said that Democrats and Republicans could pass legislation that would be supported by voters before the end of the year.

In a statement at the White House, Obama said, "There's a lot of work ahead of us, including the need to earn back the trust of the American people."

The Senate voted 81 to 18 to approve a deal that would finally end the fiscal crisis of the United States. The approved agreement also included raising the debt cap of the United States which ended a weeks-long stalemate between the Republicans and the White House. The agreement would now move to the House, where Speaker John Boehner said that Republican would not block the deal.
