The 2014 Corvette Stingray was finally unveiled by carmaker Chevrolet today. The Stingray was first introduced in 1963. According to an SF Gate report, the 2014 model would be the seventh generation C7 version. The car featured an all-new aluminum frame. The new model is both an artistic masterpiece and engineering marvel.
The new Stingray is powered by a 6.2-liter, V-8 engine which could produce 455 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. In a press release, Chevrolet said the 2014 Stingray has a nearly 50/50 weight balance because of the way the powertrain is arranged inside the vehicle. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is 185 mph.
A July report from Automotive News said that Chevrolet could improve the company's performance and that of parent company General Motors' in general. In October 1, General Motors released its September vehicle delivery performance report. Of the 187,195 vehicles sold for GM that month, a total of 127,785 cars were sold by Chevrolet. Chevrolet Malibu sales increased 29% while that of the Impala rose 64%. The Chevrolet Tahoe also posted a sales increase of 14% while sales of Spark rose 6%.
