Many leading figures in the European private equity industry are projecting that a significant shift in the industry dynamics would occur in the next few years. This was determined in an in depth study published today by Invested Fund Finance, who found that this shift comes as buyout firms seek new investments in many areas.
The 2013 Investec Private Equity explores the issues many private equity firms face as the industry shifts its focus on post-crisis environment based on insights from fifteen private equity executives active in the European market. The focus of the study were three key ares, which were as follows: perception of private equity, evolution of the industry and the importance of innovation.
The research revealed that many are fearful that the sector is not doing enough to address many of its major problems.
According to Investec Fund Finance Global Head Simon Hamilton, "We are all aware of the issues that the private equity industry has faced in the past but this research provides some fascinating insight into what is going to drive it in the future. It is xlear that from speaking with a number of prominent industry figures, while buyout firms have done a lot to prepare themselves for the new industry landscape, there is a lot more to be done before the winners and losers are determined and what the wider industry will look like as a result. Innovation is at the heart of what we do, enabling us to successfully partner with clients to meet their evolving requirements in a dynamic marketplace."
