Manhattan Beach, California-based CapLinked said it was able to closed investments amounting to USD 1 million. Subtraction Capital, FF Angel, 500 Startups and other investors participated in the expansion round. A cloud-based platform for business, CapLinked provides solutions for companies to manage complex transactions like financings, asset sales and mergers.

In the first quarter of 2013, the company's Series A round closed with USD 3 million in total funds. FF Angel, 500 Startups and Subtraction Capital Founding Partner Jason Portnoy also invested in that round.

The latest round of financing comes in a period of rapid growth for CapLinked. SunBelt Network, a business broker, chose CapLinked to be the deal management platform for its close to 100 offices last week. This month, the company was also able to get new clients to use its platform. This includes Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors. Other clients that were already disclosed by CapLinked include NextView Ventures, Sun Capital, Thomson Reuters, Draper and Kramer, Edwards Lifesciences and Proprietary Capital. CapLinked exited beta mode at the beginning of this year.

Established by PayPal's first US Marketing Director Eric M. Jackson and private equity executive Christopher Grey in 2010, CapLinked allows users to talk and transfer data in a safe environment. The CapLinked platform provides a customizable alternative to 1990s technology which included virtual data rooms, email and flash drives, among others, which are used by businesses for their deals and projects.

Subtraction Capital Partner Jason Portnoy said, "As a new venture capital fund, we wanted to take advantage of the best tools on the market to help us run our business. CapLinked understands that optimizing the user experience is critical for software-as-a-service, and this vision has enabled them to build a powerful yet elegant platform. As funds, corporations, and banks seek out new tools to collaborate on transactions, CapLinked is poised to become the gold standard."
