Israel-based startup, Extreme Reality, provides in-depth 3D motion analysis for use with standard 2D cameras, has successfully raised USD 10 mllion in a Series D funding. The funding round was led by its current investor Marker LLC and a client that the company does not want to disclose.
With the latest funding round, it has raised total funds to USD 24 million to date. The company plans to further develop its efforts such as publicly share their SDK to developers and pursue additional markets using the recently secured funds.
Extreme Reality's current system is being used in a number of mobile titles such as SEGA's GO DANCE that works on both the iPad and iPhone, without needing the use of a Microsoft Kinect.
According to Extreme Reality CEO, Sarit Firon, "Extreme Motion skeletal technology became the primary focus of Extreme Reality just two years ago and we have only started marketing a product within the past 12 months. Our revenue thus far has been based on revenue sharing agreements with game developers and licensing agreements with other companies."
Other than focusing on the gaming market, the company also has opportunities in the personal security software as well as the general consumer device markets.
