Many users of the US-based file hosting service Dropbox are still experiencing partial service interruption that has been going on for almost 48 hours now. Dropbox is working to restore all of its services. The site wend down on Friday, January 10, just after 6:00 PM PT, according to TechCrunch.
At this point, around 5% of users still cannot sync their files from their desktop tool. Mobile issues are affecting 20% of Dropbox clients. The company says it is rolling out a fix soon for those problems, the report stated.
There were earlier claims that the outage was caused by a hacking issue, but Dropbox had denied it. The hackers who initially took credit for the outage have since withdrawn their claims, the report said.
Updated posted on the Dropbox official tech blog say technicians have been gradually restoring services to its affected clients. However, the Dropbox Support Twitter account notes that there are still things that need to be fixed. The extent of the present outage is still unclear, but Dropbox is still actively responding to user queries via the support Twitter, the report explained.
In an email sent to business users on Saturday, Dropbox reassured its clients that their files are still intact despite the current inaccessibility, TechCrunch reported.
