Los Angeles startup BEZALEL is raising $35,000 via the Kickstarter platform to develop ARK, its latest portable wireless device charger, according to TechCrunch.
ARK is a portable wireless charger for smartphones and tablets. The device allows users to recharge their smart device without plugging it in an outlet. It is powered by Qi, a technology developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. ARK is compatible with Qi-certified gadgets, the iPhone 4, Nokia Lumia, and Samsung Galaxy S3/S4, and Nexus 4, the report detailed.
When tested with the iPhone 5s, ARK's creators said it can charge devices 20% faster than other similar chargers. They also said the ARK charges 5% faster compared to cable-charging. Its base can hold a maximum of three full charges. Users can also charge two devices at a time using a USB port, the report explained.
Although ARK has several rivals already, it still has a lot of demand. With 39 days more to go for the crowdfunding campaign, the device has already raised over $26,000, TechCrunch reported.
