Dropbox inks lease on huge second office in San Francisco

Dropbox has grown so much that it will soon need to move out of its office in San Francisco. The company just inked a 12-year lease on a second headquarters located at 333 Brannan to house the new employees that it hired last year, according to TechCrunch.

In 2012, Dropbox transferred from a smaller Mid-Market office to its present address at 185 Berry St in San Francisco. A few years back, the spot was practically empty. But in December, the cloud storage firm had added more than 300 people to its workforce. Last month, Dropbox also secured $250 million in funding, giving it more fuel for its expansion, the report detailed.

According to sources close to the firm, Dropbox has not yet decided which divisions of its 500-person team will be moved to its new annex, the report noted.

Dropbox will be occupying all of the spaces of the adjacent office that spans 187,000 square feet. The said building at 333 Brannan is still under construction. It is a six-storey structure with a rooftop garden and deck. By almost doubling its total office area, the cloud company should be able to launch another year or two or rapid growth, TechCrunch reported.
