Colorado start-up UrgentRx today has closed on a $3 million Series B round of financing, lead by Los Angeles-based venture capital fund JUMP Investors.
The funding comes on the heels of the company’s rapid expansion:
- UrgentRx products are now carried by EMT/ambulance units in 31 states nationwide, as well as on all American Airlines planes
- UrgentRx products are now sold in grocery chains, convenience stores, mass merchandisers and pharmacies throughout Colorado, Iowa, Washington state and Oregon, as well as through online retailers such as amazon.com, walgreens.com and drugstore.com
- Colorado locations carrying UrgentRx products include: King Soopers pharmacy, City Market pharmacy, select Walgreens and Walmart stores and Bradley gas stations
- The company is developing and preparing to launch a new product in the latter half of 2012 – UrgentRx Allergy Relief to Go™
- The company added former Walgreens Chief Marketing Officer Kim Feil to its Board of Advisors. Feil also served as Chief Marketing Officer for three other major consumer packaged goods companies including Kimberly-Clark, Sara Lee North America and Information Resources Inc. (IRI)
- UrgentRx has relocated to a larger office space in Lower Downtown (LoDo) Denver and has expanded into a larger warehouse space in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood
- UrgentRx Aspirin to Go™ has been credited with helping to save the lives of nine (9) people who took the 325mg dose of UrgentRx aspirin at the first signs of heart attack symptoms, one of whom was a skier in Vail, Colorado
- Vail and Aspen Ski Patrol carry UrgentRx Aspirin to Go with them at all times in the event a skier exhibits heart attack symptoms
“We are very pleased with the direction UrgentRx is headed,” said Jordan Eisenberg, Founder and CEO of UrgentRx. “This latest round of financing will position us to further expand our retail distribution, product portfolio and marketing efforts. We have some very exciting announcements coming this fall.”
