World's protector from ghosts and legend comedian, Harold Ramis dies at age 69 in his home at Chicago from a four-year battle with autoimmune disease reports his agency.
Haorld Ramis is most renown for his work as actor and producer of Caddyshack, Ghostbusters. He is also recognized for his role in National Lampoon's Animal House and National Lampoon's Vacation, Stripes, as well as Analyze This.
His success as an actor shows in his net worth as well. He made the number one spot in People With Money as it was reported on Sunday earning $46 million in the 2013 calendar year. He has a total estimated net worth of $145 million.
The comedian also positions himself as a business man. He is a owner of a restaurant chain Fat Ramis Burger in Washington and has lucrative endorsement deals with CoverGirl. He happens to be a fan of the Chicago Angels, the biggest fan as he is the owner of the football team. He also has his very own brand of vodka (Pure Wonderamis - US), a line of perfume (With Love From Harold), and a clothing line "Harold Ramis Seduction."
Let's not forget his most recent appearances in Knock Up playing as a father of Seth Rogan. He directed four episodes of The Office as well. Ghostbusters was set to hit theaters once again, but with his passing it is not known what to expect.
Expect he will be missed.
Adam Patterson from Facebook comments "Egon. No!!" (the name of his character in the film Ghostbusters)
While Kevin McCarthy shares similar sentiment as Adam "aw, hell...Thanks for providing alot of the laughs in my teen years..."
Another reflects his favorite line of the film
Ray: "You mean, you never even had a Slinky?"
Egon: "We had part of a Slinky... but I straightened it."
As many remember him as Egon or other characters, some will remember him for his role as a father in their lives. Ramis was a parent of two sons Julian, 23, and Daniel, 19 with his current wife Erica Mann Ramis, as well as a daughter, Violeta, 37, with his first wife.
How will you remember him? From his film in Ghostbusters, as a screen playerwriter, businessman, or director. Or even a comedian or father figure...
Famous Quotes from Harold Ramis:
I never work just to work. It's some combination of laziness and self-respect.
Acting is all about big hair and funny props... All the great actors knew it. Olivier knew it, Brando knew it.
We all wish we could be in more than one place at the same time. People with families feel guilty all the time-if we spend too much time with our family, we feel we're not working hard enough.
Whenever a critic mentions the salary of an actor, I'm thinking, He's not talking about the movie.
I feel a big obligation to the audience, almost in a moral sense, to say something useful. If I'm going to spend a year of my life on these things, I want something that I feel that strongly about.
